Medieval Castle Wall - Substance Source Signature Collection

This is my take on the classic castle wall. I wanted to create a graph which was flexible enough to run the gamut of possible applications, from a brand new freshly constructed wall all the way through to something more weathered, worn and overgrown. The Substance features parameters to change the shape and layout of the blocks, from flat, square-cut, regular-sized blocks to irregular, rounded blocks. On top of this, there are parameters to control the mortar between the blocks and the damage or erosion on the surface of each block. Finally, there are parameters to control the distribution of moss and lichen across the surface.

It is part of my Medieval themed Signature Collection for Substance Source which I had the pleasure of working on with the awesome people of the Substance Source team over at Adobe. I set myself a few goals for the set. The most important of which was thorough customisability of each material, I wanted each substance in the collection to have numerous parameters with variations of the main graph could easily be created to give the user a lot of flexibility to customise each material to the needs of their specific projects.
