This is one of my personal favourites in the collection. I spent a lot of time working on the parameters in this substance, ensuring the various shape adjustments responded to each-other correctly. For example, when adjusting the frame thickness the scale of the internal frame updates to match, ensuring the window is always split into even sub-sections. This makes on-the-fly tweaking very pleasant. Want a thinner frame? No problem! The rest of the window will morph to accommodate. After the shape is set there are options for glass styles, and then a good variety of parameters to age or weather the window.
It is part of my Medieval themed Signature Collection for Substance Source which I had the pleasure of working on with the awesome people of the Substance Source team over at Adobe. I set myself a few goals for the set. The most important of which was thorough customisability of each material, I wanted each substance in the collection to have numerous parameters with variations of the main graph could easily be created to give the user a lot of flexibility to customise each material to the needs of their specific projects.
